Who's Plan Is It?

Wednesday July 30, 2014

God has a plan for our life. The enemy has a plan for our life.  We need to be ready for both.  We need to be wise enough to know which one to battle and which one to embrace.

Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols …Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them.  (Psalm 40:4-6 NLT)

How will I know which plans are from God and which are put there by the evil one?  1) Realize you need help with making plans and ask God for that help; 2) Remember how wise and powerful God is and surrender your thinking and planning to God for His guidance. 3) Read the Bible regularly because it’s full of God’s guidance for us. In the Bible we find the foundation that God says we are to build our life on.  As we daily build and put into practice God’s foundational truths then His plans for us become clearer.  4) Seek a quiet place where you can be alone with God so you can actually hear His voice.  Turn off technology.  Make an appointment each day to spend time with God and seek His guidance in all your ways.

Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. The Lord has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster.  (Proverbs 16:3-4 NLT)

God’s voice always stills us, reassures us, comforts and encourages us.  Even when God is challenging us he’s never condemning but clearly convicts us and calls us to turn around and follow a better plan than the one we had in mind.  On the other hand, the voice of the evil one often rushes us and leaves us feeling panicked and pressured.  Confusion and fear are signs of the voice of the evil one.  Worries, discouragement, accusation and the like are sounds to reject rather than follow.

Let’s take time and make space to hear God’s voice and seek God’s guidance today.
