Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones. (Proverbs 3:7-8 NLT)
When we accept Jesus as our Redeemer we receive new life and are filled with the Holy Spirit who gives understanding of God’s Word and the power to apply it to our lives. Being wise can be judged by whether we surrender our lives to follow the instructions contained in the Bible or just read and ignore what is written.

Jesus said: “Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.” (John 14:21 NLT)

Jesus said: “Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.” (John 14:21 NLT)
Some of us are convinced that we already know enough about the world around us and about what is best for ourselves. We close our minds to what is good and right and are impressed only with the things this world has to offer. Jesus knew that on our own we would not have the wisdom to accept and obey His commandments so He sent the Holy Spirit to be with us and in us. The Holy Spirit is the power of God to sustain and guide us into all truth. He helps us understand the ways of God, the word of God, and the things which are to come.

But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, he will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is. He won't draw attention to himself, but will make sense out of what is about to happen and, indeed, out of all that I have done and said. (John 16:13 MSG)
Relying on our own human wisdom has taken us to the end of a dead end road. Now, having committed our lives to Jesus, and with the Holy Spirit to guide us, we have opened our minds to the vast supply of God’s wisdom which will enable us to have a full, safe, and satisfying life.
Grow a wise heart—you'll do yourself a favor; keep a clear head—you'll find a good life. (Proverbs 19:8 MSG)

Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:15-16 NLT)
Are we being wise enough in our thinking to let the scriptures guide us in the way we should go? Today, why not reflect on the fact that you have the mind of Christ to help you understand the ways of God.
