Cry Out For Wisdom (2)

Friday September 12, 2014

God says to each of us:  My child, today you are faced with many decisions and you're unsure about what to do. My wisdom has no limits and I am pleased to share it with you.  I know the plans I have for you that will bless and satisfy you.  Today, as you face your moments of decision, remember that I am the source of all wisdom and I am making it available to you.  Trust me even when you can't see me. I am working things out for you as you seek my guidance and rely on me.

When many of us who are in recovery bump into a situation that seems overwhelming, we often find the words of the Serenity Prayer running though our hearts and minds:  God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

It is good to remember that the God who made the heavens and the earth is making wisdom available to us every moment of every day.  It's reassuring to remember that the God who spread out the heavens can and will preserve us by His power.

But the Lord made the earth by his power, and he preserves it by his wisdom. With his own understanding he stretched out the heavens.  (Jeremiah 10:12 NLT)

In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.  (Colossians 2:3 NLT)

God knows us, loves us, and wants us to have the wonderful life He had in mind for us when he created us. It's good to remember that God's wisdom isn't limited to just our situations.  We can ask for wisdom for others in our circle of loved ones, for problems in the world, and actually, for everyone and everything that touches our life today.

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.  (Colossians 1:9 NLT)
