Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? (Matthew 6:25 NIV)
Do I worry about anything? Do I thank God in all circumstances, the seemingly bad as well as the good? When do I take time to specifically acknowledge, with gratitude, the many gifts I have received in each day? Am I using my gifts to serve God and my neighbor? God is able to take what we may think is a poor contribution to His service and use it for our good and His glory. Am I willing to live by faith and not by sight?

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.” Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. (2 Corinthians 9:8-10 NIV)
What are some of the “issues” that I may reflect on as I gauge if I’m moving from a self-centered life to one of a loving relationship with God and my neighbour? The Scriptures will help us sort if in the following areas we are living by faith in God’s word: 1) Am I practicing gratitude; 2) Am I making an effort to use the gifts I’ve been given; 3) Humility vs. pride; 4) Anger and bitterness; 5) Am I living a balanced life with God, my family and my neighbours; 6) What comes out of my mouth? In each of these areas God is able to help us live life to the full as we submit our ways to Him in faith.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20 NLT)
Let’s not hold back in serving God and others because we think we are inadequate. Let’s live by faith and not by sight!
