Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. (Matthew 18:3 NLT)
God’s way is simple. Like little children trust the good and caring hearts of their parents so we choose to believe that God is good. Regardless of what we may feel like doing we elect to follow God’s ways so we can enter into the life we were created for. We become willing, with God’s help, to change the way we think. When our thinking and God’s word clash, we repent, lay our own thoughts down, and choose for God’s. We match our behaviour to our new understanding of how life works. We read the Bible and see how God says we can do this.

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NIV)
Without God’s help we will never be able to sort out our own path and get it right. We have too many incorrect beliefs imprinted on our minds and hearts. Only obedience to the word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit active in us can keep us from falling into familiar patterns in upcoming days. Are we willing to surrender to God and obey His Word? Today, let’s determine to try God’s way and be confident in the help of the Holy Spirit to achieve those things we previously thought were impossible for us.

But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely. (Galatians 5:22-23 MSG)
