Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. (Isaiah 55:2-3a NIV)

God calls us to let go of all that is unmanageable in our lives and to turn to Him. When we do, God will work everything together for our ultimate good, including those things in our past that are harsh and cruel; all our confusion, past, present and future; and all fear of the unfamiliar and the unknown. As we surrender our self-centered way of life for God’s way of living, we begin an exciting journey with Him. God promises He will never leave or forsake us. He promises to bring us to the knowledge of all truth and to fill us with His Holy Spirit. This same Holy Spirit, the power of God, will sustain us and guide us in all our ways. As we look to Him, we will no longer live powerless. God will help us bring order into our lives and fill us with peace.
For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. (1 Corinthians 14:33 NLT)
When we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit we will get rid of those things which are not fitting for our new life in Christ. These include bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. We will find new friendships with other Christians who will encourage us as we move forward in life. We will need to guard our hearts because the accuser will be condemning us for things done in the past. We need to tell ourselves the truth that our sins are removed from us as far as the east is from the west. We are new creations in Christ, the old has gone and the new has come.

No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister. (1 John 3:9-11 NIV)
As we go forward in our new life let’s rejoice that we are now the children of God. He has opened up our future and closed our past.
