In a general sense, our emotions are a product of our thought life. If we are not thinking right, it will be reflected in our emotional state, and then in our actions, which subsequently impacts our quality of life.

I am the one who has seen the afflictions that come from the rod of the Lord’s anger. He has led me into darkness, shutting out all light. He has turned his hand against me again and again, all day long. …..The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. (Lamentations 3:1-3, 19-20 NLT)
The above statement was made by a man who was feeling extremely sorry for himself. He was sitting in emotional darkness blaming God for being angry at him and causing all the problems he encountered. He thought God was against him and he could see no way out of his situation. He had suffered great tragedy and was homeless.

All of us in one way or another suffer because of the sin-embracing world we live in. God does not get angry at the people of this world but he does get angry over sin and people’s unwillingness to acknowledge that He is the creator of all. God knows the harm sin causes in each of our lives and, because we were unable to do anything about it ourselves, He sent His son Jesus into the world to defeat sin and disarm the ruler of this world, Satan. Jesus came to the earth to die for all the sins of this world, past, present and future.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:16-17 NIV)
When we find ourselves in a difficult physical or emotional state and want to blame God, we should insert truth into our thinking by reminding ourselves that God is for us and not against us.
Why not call on God and seek His help in our time of trouble. He promises that He will help us if we call on Him.
Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. (Psalm 50:15 NKJV)
