Accepted In The Beloved (1)

Monday January 4, 2016

We have just celebrated Christmas and the New Year and now begin to ponder what the year ahead may bring for each of us.  For those who know Jesus as our Saviour, we are comforted by the knowledge that in the good times and the hard times we can depend on our Heavenly Father to rejoice with us in the good times, and help us work through difficulties when we encounter hard times.  We know we are adopted into God’s family through His beloved son Jesus and are God’s favoured children.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:3-6 NKJV)

God tells us that we are unconditionally loved and very precious to Him.  God doesn’t lie.  God never leaves or forsakes His children.  We are totally accepted by Him. God’s acceptance is assured as we confess our belief in what Jesus accomplished for us on the cross and receive forgiveness for our sins. The Bible assures us that we are complete in Christ. Our searching for acceptance and belonging finds contentment only when we enter into a loving relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Nothing else will ever give us satisfaction in life like He does.

The Lord appeared to us in the past saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.  (Jeremiah 31:3 NIV)

Today, let’s reflect on the unfailing love of our Heavenly Father and rejoice in the fact that He sent His son Jesus into the world to reconcile us to Himself.
