“Trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will”

Hillsong, one of the world’s leading contributors to praise and worship music, has given us a song that seems to describe this sentence from the Serenity Prayer.

Oh Lord You've searched me.  You know my way.  Even when I fail You.  I know You love me.
Your holy presence.  Surrounding me.  In every season.  I know You love me.  I know You love me.

At the cross I bow my knee where Your blood was shed for me.  There's no greater love than this. You have overcome the grave.  Your glory fills the highest place.  What can separate me now?

You go before me.  You shield my way.  Your hand upholds me.  I know You love me. You tore the veil.  You made a way.  When You said that it is done.

And when the earth fades, falls from my eyes and You stand before me, I know You love me, I know You love me

God knows us.  God knows what’s gone wrong in our lives.  God sees our efforts to rebuild in recovery.  God knows that the only way life will make sense and the only way it will ever be successfully lived is when we surrender to His love, moment by moment, in every season of our lives.  On the cross, Jesus paid the necessary price for our forgiveness, our healing, and for us to find new life and live it each day until the day we die and stand before Him.

Surrendering to God’s will is responding wholeheartedly to the simple truth that we are loved unconditionally by God.  Surrendering to God’s will is giving God permission to visit the deepest places of our heart and show us how life works and then following how He leads.

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.  (Psalm 139:23-24 NIV)

Will we trust God’s ability to make things right in our lives by surrendering our will and our life into His care today?  What will our actions say?
