October 22, 2016 Living In Peaceful Conscious Contact With A Loving God
Saturday October 22, 2016

In the beginning God created us to live in conscious contact with Him. His desire for each person is to know Him and His unfailing love for each of us. His will for us is to daily walk safely and securely in the conscious knowledge of His infinite love and care. God wants to be involved in each moment of our days and to share in each of our experiences.

Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31 NLT)
Prayer to our gracious God, and meditation on His word are the tools that help us rebuild our lives with God in recovery. In our daily devotions we are not seeking to simply learn facts about God but rather to consciously experience God’s care and get to know His character and ways. As we draw closer to God we enter into relationship with a loving friend who knew us before we were born, knows all about us, and cares deeply for us. The Holy Spirit, who lives within us, strengthens us to face the deepest, most confusing, most fearful, most painful, and most traumatized areas of our life. As we linger in God’s loving presence our whole being -- body, mind and spirit-- is renewed. Conscious contact with God is the most blessed way to, not only begin and end each day, but to walk in throughout the day.

As we pay attention to what God says, He teaches us how to live. When we act on what God teaches, we become more and more conscious of how perfectly His ways work out in all our relationships. God has good plans for our day to day living and He’s ever willing to reveal them to us.
