When life takes a nosedive, it is important to remember that God is still with us. We may be unfamiliar with looking for treasure while in dark circumstances but, the treasure is there nonetheless. God tells us that the way to a life of blessing is to seek Him first in all that we do and say. As we learn to give God first place in every detail of our lives, we will notice that those things that previously concerned us are now furthering our good.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28 NLT)
If we are dissatisfied with our lives today, it is not God who is depriving us of contentment. It’s time to check our thought patterns and stop dwelling on the unpleasant things that tie us to the past. We need to take inventory of how we spend our time. We need to start looking forward to the goodness that lies ahead, picturing a fulfilling future with God in it. We need to intentionally look at how God is directing our path and then set goals for ourselves with the expectation that, as we make our plans, God will provide all that we require to fulfill His purposes.

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. (Philippians 2:13-15 NLT)
God has promised to meet all our needs. He will do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. He will also encourage us to move ahead and do all that we can do.
Prayer: God grant me peace as I look to You today, trusting that you will work all things together for my good. Help me to be conscious of Your will and give me the power to carry it out. Amen
