Continuous Praise

Sunday August 13, 2017

Upon wakening each morning, are our first thoughts of God with a desire to praise Him for His grace and goodness to us or, are they focused on our problems and those things that need to be done?  When we start our day focusing on our problems or personal agenda then we are missing out on the use of all the valuable resources God is making available to us to have the most productive day.

Praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord, you his servants; praise the name of the Lord.  Let the name of the Lord be praised, both now and forevermore.  From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.  The Lord is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens.  Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?  (Psalm 113:1-6 NIV)

When we seek God first in our day, He will provide the wisdom and strength we need to achieve what’s on our agenda.  On the other hand, when we begin our day trying to sort out solutions on our own for circumstances that may cause us problems, we will find that we are ill equipped to handle what we actually encounter.  “God could and would if He were sought” should be front and center in our minds  as we start each new day.

When we take time to build conscious contact with God we are acknowledging that He, the maker of the heavens and the earth, really does bend down to listen and strengthen those whose hearts are turned towards Him.

The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.  (2 Chronicles 16:9 NLT)

Why worry and complain all day long about our hardships when God is ready to help us?  All we have to do is seek His help early and often in our day.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, Help me to remember to seek You early in my day.  I want to praise You all day long for there is no hardship that You are unable to resolve.  AMEN
