God desires to have fellowship with each one of us. He pursues us with His love. God wants the very best for His children and speaks clearly through His word, which like a mirror, shows us what works, what harms, what is right, and what is wrong. Here are some of the things God's mirror reveals to us.
Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths. (Psalm 119:1-3)
You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands. Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions. (Psalm 119:73, 18)
I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure. The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119:162, 130, 105)
God is fully aware that we don’t always reflect his joy and teaching in our daily lives. God sent His son Jesus into the world, not to judge us but rather to provide a way for us to be transformed into the image of His character.
But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. (James 1:22-24 NLT)
Let’s allow the Bible, the mirror of God’s word, to transform us into the person God created us to be.
Prayer: Loving God, You desire that we not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Thank You that Your word shows us what Your good, pleasing and perfect will is for us. AMEN
