Rosa Parks is an African American who was treated unfairly just because her skin colour was black. The transportation service of her city had laws which prohibited black people from being seated when no seat was available to a white person who entered the bus. One day, Rosa refused to give up her seat when a white person came on board the bus. Rosa was sent to prison, because of her non-compliance, even though the law was unjust. In spite of this unfair treatment, she persevered and others joined her in the fight to end discrimination against black people in the United States. Because of Rosa, and those who joined her, those unjust laws were eventually changed so that all people could be treated fairly.

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. (James 1:2-4 NLT)

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. (Romans 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT)

Some days we may feel discouraged and think that change is impossible but we need to remember that with God any difficulty can be worked out and overcome. With God nothing is impossible! God can work in all things for good. Our part is to stand strong and persevere.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, When change seems distant help me to remember that with You all things are possible. AMEN
