To know the will of God for our lives requires spending time with Him. In the Bible we read the example of the Apostle Paul taking responsibility for past actions and then moving forward in knowing and doing God's will. Paul violently persecuted followers of Jesus and tried to kill as many as he could. When Paul met Jesus, his life was changed forever. He took responsibility for being wrong and made the effort to learn the truth - stopped everything and spent three years of intense study of the scriptures to find it - and then let God shape his life in accordance with what he learned.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2, NIV)

God promises: I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. (Jeremiah 29:13 NIV)

God will guide us on every step of our journey and will never abandon us. As we continue to follow His ways we discover that the bondage to our old evil ways is broken. We move forward in our new life in recovery in a way we never could before.
Prayer: Gracious God, Thank You for leading me out of darkness into Your wonderful light and for renewing my mind so that I may know and follow Your will for my life. I am forever grateful that You care for me. AMEN
