God's Will Revealed
Monday December 17, 2018

Meditating on God’s word in the Bible and prayer to our Heavenly Father are positive daily habits that help us rebuild our lives. In our daily devotions, we are not seeking to learn facts about God but rather to come to Him and get to know His character and His ways. As our relationship with God develops, we will discover that we have a loving friend who knew us before we were born, knows all about us, and cares deeply for us.

God created us with a desire for intimate personal sharing for trusting and being trusted. God wants to fulfill this longing in us, first through relationship with Him and then with others. God wants to share heart to heart with us about the things that matter to Him.

The prayer and meditation to which Step 11 invites us is more than just trying to figure out what God’s plans are for us. Reading the Bible reveals to us the nature of God and all the promises He has made to us. Underneath all our "spiritual exercises" is God's desire for us to know the unfailing love He has for each one of us.

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. (Jude 1:20-21 NIV)
Improving our conscious contact with God will strengthen our faith as we seek His will in all our ways.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your unfailing love for me. I ask for strength to live as a person who honours You in all my ways. Draw me near that I might dwell on those things that are close to Your heart. Amen
