Mature And Complete

When someone or something is the best that it can be, we say it is mature or complete. Do we often consider ourselves as mature and complete? In the Bible God gives us principles to follow so we can grow and become the mature person He created us to be. If we obey God and do not allow ourselves to be influenced by others, we will be blessed in all that we do. To be mature is to accept that in this world we will have trouble, just as Jesus said. To persevere through the troubles that come our way, we need to understand the ways of God and be willing to do what He says.

In our unmanageable lifestyle some of us allowed others to get us involved in their evil plans and we suffered the consequences. What enables us to be mature in these situations is to have the will and desire to practice God’s principles in all our affairs. Our attitude should be that of improving our conscious contact with God through prayer and meditation, so that He may direct us in the way we are to go. We will grow in our faith as we choose to adapt God’s ways as our ways, rather than conforming to the ways that are acceptable to our friends or in our culture.

As we mature in our faith, we need to be ready to admit to any defects of character that may arise and cause us to stumble. We need to regularly take personal inventory and when we are wrong, promptly admit it.
So be careful. When you think you are standing firm, you might fall. (1 Corinthians 10:12 NIRV)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Help me to set boundaries for myself that are in keeping with Your Word. Please work in me so I can be mature and complete, lacking nothing. Amen
