In the Bible we read about the children of Israel being released from slavery by the purpose and plan of God. They had been praying for God’s help and God responded by sending Moses to rescue them and lead them into a good land. After much intervention by God, they were released from their slave drivers and were hopeful for a new life as they set out on their journey to the promised land. As they encountered obstacles on their way their hope faded. They complained and doubted God’s ability to take care of them as they moved forward. Their lack of faith in God caused them many problems and delayed their occupation of the promised land.
I have come down to rescue them from the Egyptians. I will bring my people out of Egypt into a country where there is good land, rich with milk and honey. (Exodus 3:8a CEV)

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)

God knows the way forward and it will likely include obstacles as we journey. When difficulties come, we should not get discouraged but instead put our hope in the kindness and wisdom of God to lead us forward in His perfect plan.
Be alert and think straight. Put all your hope in how kind God will be to you when Jesus Christ appears. (1 Peter 1:13 CEV)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want to trust Your good plan and purpose for my life. When I encounter obstacles, strengthen me to be alert, to think straight, and to trust Your wisdom to help me persevere through to victory. Amen
