Most of us have heard the tale of the race between a rabbit and a turtle. The rabbit was so sure he would have no trouble winning that he got distracted. The turtle, on the other hand, just put his head down, and one slow step at a time steadily moved forward. It was the turtle, not the rabbit who won the race.
Steady plodding brings prosperity; hasty speculation brings poverty. (Proverbs 21:5 TLB)
Let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. (Ephesians 4:23-24 NLT)
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed but wants everyone to repent. (2 Peter 3:9 NLT)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m so glad You know me. You know my weaknesses and my strengths. You know my past and my future. You are the only one who can help me walk forward at a safe and steady pace. I surrender to Your plan and Your timing. Help me to grow in faithfulness and trust. Help me to be patient and peaceful on my journey with You. Amen
