God Provides All I Need

 When we give our will and life over to the care of God, we are demonstrating our trust in God to provide for our needs. We may have many needs and find it challenging to believe that God will supply what we require. The fact is, God is aware of what is lacking in our lives and if we choose to trust Him, we will find that He will provide everything that affects life and godliness. 

 One account in the Bible shows how God tested Abraham’s faith and it reminds us that God wants us to believe the Scriptures and act on what He says. God told Abraham to sacrifice his dear son Isaac whom He loved, and Abraham prepared to do so. God commended Abraham for obeying His direction and when the sacrifice was needed, God provided a sheep. Isaac was spared and because of Abraham’s obedience God’s blessings impacted him and generations to come. Abraham believed that God would provide what was needed, and He did. (Genesis 22)

 
Abraham said, “Son, God will see to it that there’s a sheep for the burnt offering.” And they kept on walking together. Abraham named that place God-Yireh (God-Sees-to-It). That’s where we get the saying, “On the mountain of God, he sees to it.” (Genesis 22:8, 14 MSG)

 The full meaning of "believe" in the Scripture sentence, "Abraham believed God and was set right with God," includes his action. It's that mesh of believing and acting that got Abraham named "God's friend."  (James 2:23 MSG)

Prayer: Gracious God, When I am overwhelmed by the magnitude of my needs, help me to have faith that You are my friend and my provider and believe that You will act on my behalf. Amen
