Merry Christmas

Christmas  –  it really happened!  God came to our planet.  We may never be able to fully comprehend how or even why He chose to do this but, the fact remains He came by way of a Bethlehem manger.  We matter to God, the God who created the heavens and the earth.

Jesus was born exactly as the angel and the prophets foretold. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. Jesus came at the appointed time and place that God had planned. Jesus’ birth was foretold so that people would recognize Him. Some did and Some didn’t. The fact is, at just the right time, God sent Jesus into the world.

We are significant to God because of our connection to Jesus Christ. Throughout His life Jesus clearly said and demonstrated that He came from God. He taught the people the ways of God and healed the sick among them. Jesus was patient and kind to the crowds who gathered around Him for He saw them as sheep without a shepherd. Jesus invites us to come close to Him on this Christmas day.

The coming of Jesus to our world, and to us, is a powerful witness to the truth that our ordinary and simple lives matter to the God who created us.  When we repent of our sin and accept Jesus as our Saviour, we are assured of God's love and acceptance. Jesus’ birth changed everything and has helped make things better for each of us because we know God will never leave or forsake us.  Merry Christmas!

Prayer: Gracious God, Thank You for Jesus who was born into this world to be my Saviour, and to show me that my life has meaning and purpose.  Thank you for the gifts of love and acceptance I have received from You because I choose to believe in Jesus who was sent into the world to save me from the power of sin.  Amen
