The God Of Christmas Is With Us

Monday December 26, 2022

With Christmas Eve and Christmas Day behind us, it’s a good time to review our daily life and our relationship with God and others, and to reflect on our hopes and dreams for the coming year.

God is righteous, and His wisdom is infinite.  There’s nothing harsh or unkind in God’s nature.  We were created in the likeness of God but sin spoiled God’s perfect creation. As some of us gathered in family groups or with friends to celebrate Christmas, we may have witnessed sinful ways at work. Often a gathering may be ruined by existing bitterness related to a past event or by addictive behaviour that is ongoing.  We are called to love each other and yet we still say and do things that disappoint and anger one another.
We truly are sinful broken people living in a sinful broken world.  The joy of the Christmas season is that we celebrate Jesus who came to earth to demonstrate God's love for us and to provide a way for us to be free from sin and brokenness..

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.  God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.  (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8 NLT)

Many new devices and gadgets received as gifts will need to be powered up or have batteries installed.  The new life God is offering us requires that we invite Jesus into our lives and connect to His power through the Holy Spirit.  Each day, as we meditate on His word in the Bible, God will teach us how our lives are meant to be lived and will support and direct us as we seek Him in all our affairs.

The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.  I will advise you and watch over you.  (Psalm 32:8 NLT)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, Thank you for the gift of new life that You are offering me.  I am willing to enter into this new life and allow You to guide and direct me in all my ways.  Amen
