At Just The Right Time

…The Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).  (Isaiah 7:14 NLT)

We have just read a promise God gave to His people hundreds of years before the birth of Jesus.  At just the right time, this promise was fulfilled.  Many other Scriptures in the Bible have prophesies that are yet to be fulfilled.  God’s timing is perfect, and He will neither be too late nor too early.  God will act at just the right time.

All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet: “Look! The virgin will conceive a child!  She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’”  When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife.  (Matthew 1:22-24 NLT)

In the Bible God has given us examples of patience and timeliness on which we can reflect. Jesus was born at God's designated time.  Jesus took upon Himself the deserved punishment for our sins and paid the penalty of death for us.  At just the right time Jesus opened the door to God's saving grace so that when He comes to take us home to spend eternity with Him, we will be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.  

"You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly." (Romans 5:6 NIV)

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 NIV)

Prayer:  Loving God, Help me to believe and trust that at just the right time You will make perfect all that concerns me.  I am eternally grateful that You care for me. Amen
