Meditations on "Anger"

Most people long for peace of mind and heart. Life with God in recovery provides many tools which help satisfy this deep longing within us.

What we think about has a powerful impact on what we do.

We usually say an individual is “white knuckling” when they are just using willpower to stay sober.

How are we to live without paralyzing fear in an unsafe world?

Jesus came to earth when the nation of Israel was ruled by Rome.

To stop using our substance of choice is a great beginning in recovery but God knows that unless we deal with the underlying root of our habits and addictive practices, we will remain doomed for failure.

He [God] gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

We came into recovery because we knew life wasn’t working.

Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.

When some of us became aware that our lives were on a dark downward pathway, we chose to admit that we were powerless over our dependency and our lives were unmanageable.

With Christmas Eve and Christmas Day behind us, it’s a good time to review our daily life and our relationship with God and others, and to reflect on our hopes and dreams for the coming year.

Christmas – it really happened! God came to our planet.
