Meditations on "Gratitude"

Each year as I look on the faces of aging war veterans I wonder what they are remembering.

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.

Every day God gives us the opportunity to have a good day, regardless of what is happening around us.

“Look, today I am giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse!

“Practice makes perfect.” We hear that from athletes, rock stars, tradesmen, and even the guy down the street as he flies by on his longboard.

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.

Our hearts are touched as we watch young faces on parade honour some old veterans.

I've been reflecting on "remembering" these days. My heart was touched with what King David wrote when he focused on the fact that God remembered him with loving-kindness because God was good.

One day Jesus faced a huge problem. More than 5000 people were before him and they were tired and hungry and the only resources available were five small loaves (probably bun sized pita bread) and a couple of small fish.

Practicing an attitude of gratitude – just a happy little slogan or a way of facing each day that changes everything?
