Meditations on "Lies"

Many of us blame God because bad things happened to us when we were powerless to change the situation.

Today is Labour Day and tomorrow many students, and some of us, return to places of education for a new season of learning and maturing.

When we accept Jesus’ death as payment for the sins we have committed, we are freed from the punishment of sin and are given a fresh start.

Steadily moving forward in recovery is not easy. As we awaken out of the haze of years in addiction our minds are often filled with memories of things done to us and things we have done to others.

When we think of healing we often look to physical healings recorded in the Bible.

Low self-esteem is a negative sense of one's worth or ability to cope or do well in life.

The long days of summer are with us. During these few months many folks enjoy fishing in the early morning or late into the evening.

Whether it is a group of bullies on a school playground or an abusive partner behind closed doors, it is never right for one person to force their agenda or desires on another.

We will come to experience a secure and happy life in recovery as we learn to be grateful and appreciate the smallest blessing in each day.

Too many of us drive while distracted by our cell phones and other activities such as changing stations on the radio or eating.

God wants us to be responsible and generous with all He has given us – time, abilities, money, possessions.

When we repent of our sin and surrender our will and life over to the care of God, amazing things happen.
