Meditations on "Recovery"

Mother Teresa got it right when she said, “A joyful heart is the inevitable result of a heart burning with love.

We know that God watches over all the earth and sees the wickedness that causes His anger to burn against those who inflict pain and injustice on others.

For many of us infidelity in a relationship harmed us.

To some degree, all of us rely on ourselves to do those things that are important for life and happiness.

Life is not perfect and has its challenges. It is easy to let the obstacles and struggles of life get us down, but there is another way to live that is so much better.

We wonder if God is listening to our prayers when traumatic situations arise, and we are trying to navigate our way through them.

An important part of recovery is coming to an accurate view of what went wrong in our relationships.

Jesus came to earth to die in our place. Jesus knows the way to please our Heavenly Father and He knows the way humans displease Him.

For all of us stress comes from many areas of life.

In Step 2 of the 12-Step program we came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

When we sober up and come into recovery, most of us quickly recognize that we have an anger problem.

In Step-7 we come to God and humbly ask Him to remove our shortcomings.
