Meditations on "Relationship"

Denial is described as a refusal to admit the truth or reality of a situation.

When we were active in addiction, many of us took risks which were unhealthy and some of us continue to live with the consequences of our actions.

Who am I? Who do I say I am? Who do others say I am?

In sobriety, we become aware of how much spiritual poison we’ve allowed to build up in our hearts and minds.

We tend to base our security on the experience of our personal relationships with others.

A Just for today I will try to live in conscious contact with God praying only for knowledge of His will and the power to carry it out.

An important part of living with God in recovery is coming to an accurate view of what went wrong in our relationships and doing our part to make things right.

We are not defective and dirty because of the evil one’s influence that caused someone else to sin against us.

Unkind words or hurtful events cause us to store anger which over time, if not dealt with, will turn into frustration, anxiety, hatred, despair, rage, and hopelessness.

We all need time to relax and unwind from the responsibilities of a busy day.

When we came to acknowledge that, on our own we were powerless over our addictive lifestyle, we sought help from those people who were known in the community to assist individuals like us in finding freedom from addiction.

As we leave behind a lifestyle of active addiction and begin to follow God in our new life in recovery, we may have questions about the future.
