Meditations on "Surrender"

Half measures availed us nothing. We stood at the turning point.

We came into recovery because life as we knew it was not working.

Addiction is a disease of isolation. That’s not news to those of us who have spent time there.

When we turn our will and life over to the care of God, we are admitting that we cannot do life on our own and from this day forward are willing to let God direct our lives.

Jesus is risen from the dead! Because He lives, we also shall live.

Our experience of love and satisfaction in life is tied directly to being obedient to the ways of God.

We often give up on God before His plan, in His perfect timing, takes effect.

Many of us know from personal experience, and from what we have seen and heard from others, that the consequences of a lifestyle of drug or alcohol misuse can be devastating.

We hope for all sorts of things. When we struggle with life, we hope we can make it through one more day.

Being conscious of who we are and our place in life is often considered to be “self-perception.

Our life with God in recovery should be one of continual learning and growing.

Our life in recovery is often like travelling on an unknown path.
