Meditations on "Surrender"

When we think that we are so great that we can do recovery alone we need to share our thoughts with a trusted friend or mentor.

Surrendering our minds to the Lordship of Jesus Christ brings peace to our whole being.

There is a life in the shadows that is negative and promotes “shady living”.

We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.

We have lived so long in darkness and been deceived by the devil, our culture, and our own thinking that there are many things that appear to us to be light that are actually darkness.

For the past couple of days we've been thinking about guilt - why we feel guilty and what we should do about it.

What are we doing from day to day, even moment to moment, to train ourselves to hear and respond to the voice of God?

How do we enter into this friendship relationship with God that makes life safe and satisfying and guarantees us life, beyond the grave, in heaven?

All through the Bible we read stories of how good friends cared for one another and helped each other draw closer to God and achieve the things God had prepared for them to do.

For a few days we've been looking at some of the claims of Jesus Christ -- that He was the Son of God, lived a sinless life, would die and rise again, and would go back to heaven to be with His Father.

To have God remove all our defects of character is to specifically ask Him to take away everything that hinders our ability to live fully in His love.

Many problems simply cannot go away until we become willing to let go of the thinking and believing that ties us to them.
