Meditations on "Wisdom"

So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.

May your unfailing love come to me, Lord, your salvation, according to your promise; then I can answer anyone who taunts me, for I trust in your word.

As we leave a lifestyle of active addiction and begin to follow God in our new life in recovery, we may have questions about the future, wondering how this new life of ours is going to work out.

When we were in our addiction, we made bad choices and walked down paths that caused us and those around us pain and harm.

When we pray we often expect God to immediately change everything for our good.

The Bible is a handbook for living wisely. Its pages contain all sorts of guidelines for living life as our creator intended.

He (God) gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Peace and serenity are gifts to be received. They are treasures to be chosen.

Many of us who are overcoming a lifestyle of addiction experience irritability and anger in certain situations.

To experience strength and hope for the future in our new life with God in recovery we need to stand firm in the power of the Holy Spirit.
